Sake, or nihon-shu, is making inroads into the Australian beverage market.  More and more Australians are trying it and liking it.  But for many of us, our enjoyment is constrained by lack of knowledge and confidence. Our master class will fix that!

Sample the product of five different breweries – the youngest of which is a mere 97 years old.  Guided by Yukino Ochiai of Deja Vu Sake, find out what makes each sake unique, and learn the vocabulary that will help you explore this essential element of Japan’s culture.

This is a sit-down event, with food to complement the different sakes, prepared by Sapporo Restaurant.

Yukino Ochiai and her husband Andrew Cameron established Déjà Vu Sake in 2012 to supplement their existing fine wine distribution business.  Yukino, Japanese-born and Australian-educated, takes an evangelical approach to spreading the word about sake.  She works imaginatively and tirelessly with the food and beverage trade to get the message out.  Her expertise and her enthusiasm make a powerful – and enjoyable – combination.

Bottled sake will be available for sale at the end of the event (cash only).
