Innovation in Japan is the topic of a seminar held on the occasion of the visit by the governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, Mr. Shigefumi Matsuzawa. 

Specifically the seminar will introduce Kanagawa as a location for Australian investment and collaboration in advanced R&D. Kanagawa boasts excellent R&D facilities and some of Japan's most successful companies. 

Speakers include:-

  • Dr. Osamu Kumagai - Senior Vice President, Sony Corporation and Chairman of the Kanagawa R&D Network 
Dr. Kumagai will be speaking about open innovation
  • Trent Rowe, Group General Manager Product & Marketing, Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited 
Mr. Rowe will discuss and share CFCL experiences in technology development within Japan's burgeoning cleantech industry
  • Professor Gordon Wallace, Executive Director, ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science | Intelligent Polymer Research Institute 
Hear Professor Wallace speak about Nanostructured Electromaterials for Energy conversion/Storage and Medical Bionics, along with his business experience with Japan
