Inoue Yasushi Award event - October 20.

AJS-NSW is pleased to support this annual cultural event at which the Inoue Yasushi Award is presented to a scholar of Japanese culture.

In 2017 the awardee is Dr. Royall Tyler, latterly of ANU, who translated the Tale of Genji, among other works.

The Inoue Yasushi Award was established in 2006 (Australia-Japan Year of Exchange) at the University of Sydney by the Inoue Yasushi Memorial Foundation/Inoue Family and Masanori Ohtani of Sydney.

A cultural program with Japanese dance (nihonbuyo) and Noh singing will follow the award presentation.
